The legend of world football, Andrés Iniesta, has expanded his influence beyond the playing fields by becoming a co-owner of Helsingør, a team competing in the third division of Danish football through his company "Never Say Never" (NSN). With this new initiative, Iniesta aims to transform the club into a reference point both locally and nationally.
In statements to a Danish media outlet, Iniesta expressed his commitment to the team's development: "The goals are to see the team improve year after year, that players emerge from the youth academy, that the facilities improve, and that people can feel proud of their team." These words reflect the former player's long-term vision, which seeks not only to improve the club's sporting performance but also to strengthen its connection with the community.
The project led by NSN is not something new, as the company had previously collaborated with Helsingør as a consultant. Now, in partnership with the Hispanic-Swiss firm Stoneweg, led by Jaume Sabater, they have acquired a majority stake in the club. This financial and strategic investment aims to lay the foundations for modern and efficient management.
During a recent visit to the Helsingør facilities, Iniesta met with the coaching staff, led by Spanish coach Pep Alomar, shared moments with the players, and attended the last league match before the winter break to reaffirm his commitment to the team and its aspirations.
Despite competing in the third division with a total of twelve teams, Helsingør, which was in the Danish Superliga seven seasons ago, currently occupies the seventh position. The club has outstanding facilities and a promising youth academy. Iniesta sees the potential of the city and the club as a unique opportunity to make history in Danish football.
Iniesta's business venture highlights his versatility and ongoing commitment to the world of sports. His goal is for Helsingør to become an example of success both sporting and social in Denmark, thus consolidating his legacy in the sports industry.
