Denmark's Foreign Minister on Greenland's Status

The Danish Foreign Minister confirmed that U.S. control over Greenland does not benefit the island, highlighting concerns about international relations and local autonomy.

The new Minister of Foreign Affairs of Denmark confirmed on Friday that control over Greenland by the USA is not in the interests of this island. This statement was made after concerns were expressed regarding rumors about a possible purchase of the territory by Americans.

"Greenland is not for sale. Greenland is not part of the USA. Greenland belongs to the Greenlanders," the minister emphasized. Greenland enjoys broad autonomy under the Kingdom of Denmark, and besides that, it is a domicile for an important military-strategic object for the USA.
