Denmark offers to allocate additional funds in the amount of 10.2 million kroner (1.4 million dollars) for the Management of the Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) after Israel prohibited it from operating in its territory. This indicates an increase in the contribution to the annual financing of UNRWA, which currently amounts to 45 million kroner.
"Denmark believes that support for UNRWA is of great importance for millions of Palestinians who need help, especially in light of recent events in the Middle East," said the Danish foreign minister in an official statement.
This decision was made after Israel temporarily banned UNRWA's activities in its territory due to the organization's alleged support for terrorism. On the other hand, UNRWA claims its work is focused on providing assistance to millions of Palestinians exposed to conflict and poverty.
However, Denmark has decided to increase its financing for UNRWA to continue supporting refugees from Palestine. This obligation is directed at providing necessary humanitarian assistance and support for those in need in the region.
