The Danish police announced on Monday the detention of 20 people during a protest demanding that the shipping company Maersk cease its supply of weapons to Israel.
Protest organizers accuse Maersk of supplying military equipment to Israel in the context of recent events in the Middle East. The demonstration took place at a small port in the town of Aarhus, where demonstrators blocked access to the company's facility.
During the protest, 20 participants were detained, allegedly for violating public order. The police assessed the situation as calm and without obvious signs of violence.
"We have the right to express our opinions and protest peacefully. We are controlling the situation to prevent escalation," said a police representative.
