Trump's Interest in Greenland Reiterated

Recent polls show that the majority of the residents of Greenland oppose joining the United States, although most express a preference for complete independence from Denmark. Speaking about this, U.S. President Donald Trump stated in his speech before Congress on Tuesday evening: "Together, we will raise Greenland to such a high bar that you didn't even dream of." Greenland is a region with autonomous governance, subordinated to the Kingdom of Denmark.

In his speech before Congress in Washington, Donald Trump expressed interest in acquiring Greenland and presented its residents with a "beautiful" picture of prosperity and safety. He specifically mentioned this even before he began his presidency, saying: "We will ensure your safety and make you rich." He also added: "This nation is very small... and a huge, huge piece of land that is very important for military security."
