Denmark has expressed its readiness to participate in the peacekeeping mission in Ukraine. So far, the discussion is only about the readiness to participate 'from a principled point of view', and specific steps on this issue remain at the stage of discussion. A representative of the Ministry of Defense of the country emphasized that they are currently in the process of assessing all aspects of participation. In the case of a decision on the direction of troops for a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine, detailed discussions in parliament will precede this.
'In consideration of our obligations in the area of peacekeeping, Denmark is ready to participate in supporting peace in Ukraine. We are in the stage of studying all aspects of this possibility and will keep parliament informed,' stated the representative of the Danish Ministry of Defense.
In the case of a decision on sending Danish troops to Ukraine, official approval must be made in parliament. The Danish troops themselves indicate that such participation could give them the opportunity to contribute to strengthening security and stability in the region.
