The Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lars Lokke Rasmussen, announced this Monday that he will summon the US ambassador to Denmark, Kenneth Howery, to talk after the appointment of a special envoy to Greenland by US President Donald Trump. On Sunday, Trump appointed the governor of Louisiana, Jeff Landry, as a special US envoy to Greenland, a decision that generated strong diplomatic reactions in Copenhagen, as reported by Xinhua.
